Since I don't have calendar widget on the site yet ... I'll have to do this the old way 
39 years from now (2047 SY) Mikako sends her message to Noboru, from Agartha. When Noboru gets the message he finds himself ready to head off to space, 9 years after Mikako has sent the message.
This email exchange leads to the climax and one of my favorite Shinkai scenes and lines. Every time I see this scene I think that even though they are so far apart, how lucky they are to have each other and that yes, their love for each has survived despite time and space.

Listening to the soundtrack made me want to watch this again. There's something rather poetic about the Agarta scene. The music for the scene on the CD is titled, "Agarta's Rain." First, you get the sense of just light drops of rain, gradually turning into a downpour. This seems to mirror the visuals from the scene as well as Mikako's out-pouring of emotion as the shared memories with Noboru come flooding back into her mind.
By 2047, I will definitely be looking a lot like "Old Geezer." |

I was watching this again on the plane ride back home yesterday on my ipod and I love the music too I can hear just a few notes and it immediately takes me to the movie Perfect in it's simplicity.

My version of the album is really bad quality. The speakers get crackly on the higher and louder notes. This isn't a speakers problem - it's definitely the recording. Anyone know where I can get a better one (short of buying it)?
