Any thoughts? I really enjoyed reading about the master himself, he says he's not gloomy or interested in romance like his work portrays, but I think he's just lying
Whilst I'm here, I'd like to thank Junpei for giving me a warm welcome

In the question about music, the interviewer used the term "non-diagetic." I couldn't find "diagetic" in any dictionary. It has to be either a misspelling or else a new word. Anybody got any clues?
BTW, great interview. Thanks, Janny for sharing that. |

| Thanks again, Janny. So, it was actually misspelled in the interview. Makes sense now. |

| Quote: | AF:You’ve made short films and a feature-length film and now your latest film 5 Centimeters per Second is a medium-length work at 63 minutes. Do you prefer working on films of shorter lengths or features? Or does it depend on the story you want to tell?
MS: It does depend on what kind of story I want to tell. As it takes about a month or so to make a short film and at least a year to make a feature, it all depends on how much time I have to put into it and how long I am prepared to dedicate myself to the process. If it’s a light-hearted subject matter, I may want to spend less time on it so it really depends on my level of dedication to the subject. As for 5 Centimetres per Second, because it contains three short films which make up a medium-length film, it wasn’t a heavy decision. When the film was completed, I didn’t feel as satisfied at the end of the process and this has led me to work on a feature-length film for my next project. |
Ahh so now we know his next work is a feature film, great. |

Hi Janny,
Welcome to the Forums!!!! Thanks so much for the post, quite an interesting read.
BTW - One of the movies the interviewer talks about, Punch Drunk Love, is a good, yet odd love story, for those of you who haven't seen it. One of my favs. _________________ You're a woman, I'm a calf ... you're a window, I'm a knife ... we come together making chance into starlight ... - Jeff Buckley

Yeah ... but it's still pretty good ... it's not a Billy Madison/Happy Gilmore-esque movie. it's a little of the wall, but good movie.
