I actually got into gaming thanks to of my sister, and now I'm addicted, mostly to the RPG genre because of the idea of creating your own character and adding a bit of your own personality to it. At the moment I'm hyper over the release of this game http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mirror%27s_Edge
So, any of you guys video game junkies? Have any favorite genre?

Hi Janny ... thanks for starting a video games thread
That game looks pretty cool. I have a PS3 and it looks like that will come out on the PS3 .. so maybe I'll get it.
My current games I'm playing are GTA4 and I have a button mashing fighting game (Virtua Fighter 5) that I play from time to time.
Soul Caliber 4 comes out next week (yaaaaaa!). I've got a demo version of the Naruto Ninja Storm game that I just downloaded as well.
Here's another game that I can't wait to come out ... the visuals are very cool ... http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Valkyrie_of_the_Battlefield. Also .. Little big Planet for PS3 should be amazing

Text-based MMORPG FTW!!!! If any of you really get into it we could meet up in game or on the wiki. Me and most of my "RL" friends play it and have quite a presence (for our numbers).
But yeah that's basically the only game I play nowadays. After school finishes I'll no doubt go and buy a 360 and live out the rest of my days playing Halo 3 and Dead Rising... _________________ There are certain moments where some people should just be left unknown. |

AWESOME!!!!
Now, I could explain to you how to play - but as I was the first in my group of friends to start playing (back in Jan '07), I had to explain to my fair share of n00bs, and frankly, I'm over it
So instead I'll provide you with this link:
http://wiki.urbandead.com/index.php/First_Day_in_Malton
It's a guide hosted on the ever-helpful, dramariffic, life consuming URBAN DEAD WIKI!!!
It's where I spend most of my online life, AND I REGRET NOTHING!!
So yeah. Keep the questions coming - I'm happy to answer specific concerns, but keep in mind most of your questions can be answered on the wiki or in the Urban Dead (we like to call it UD) FAQ.
Have fun playing. Once you've got the hang of it we can meet up. I've got 4 characters so chances are I'll have someone nearby (the city is made up of 100 suburbs, each one containing 100 blocks - so it's pretty freakin huge).
Anyway that's all. Gotta go home and finish my major work for society and culture (It's due wednesday :O ). There was a blackout so I went to my friend's house with my mac to keep going, but the power just came back on.

I'm very sorry to disappoint you so soon, but I just can't find the time to play it.
It's the mid-year rush and I'm in my final year at my junior high which means a lot of work to get throught before getting ready for senior high next year. Also, I'm still working on some assignments and a major artwork which takes 2-3 months.
Even now coming onto the forum can be difficult. But rest assured I will never forget this site. |

Haha that's ok. I can relate - I start my final year HSC trials in a week. And I just handed in my society and culture major work which I've been working on for nine months.
I really hate school... _________________ There are certain moments where some people should just be left unknown. |

Video games eh? I'm not much of a gamer. Though i do own a fair few consoles, haha.
I suppose my favourite type of games are stuff like Tekken and Street Fighter. Just the sort of thing you can pick up and turn your brain off.
Anything too challenging, mentally just feels like work, not really fun for me.
Though i do play World of Warcraft. I like the idea of being able to live as a character in a fantasy world. Just finding the time and dedication to play it often is the key. |

Couldn't agree more. A shame they haven't invented the Holodeck like in Star Trek, since the term of gaming would be brought to a whole new level. That would absolutely rock! _________________ Of all the things I've lost, I miss my mind the most. |

Hey Maltos ... horde or alliance?
I played a lot of WoW until recently when I switched over to console gaming. I just picked up Soul Caliber 4 the other day and have been playing Darth Vader a lot. very cool game. Also, I downloaded the Naruto:Ninja Storm game. I like the visuals in the game ... very anime-like. I will probably pick that game up as well when it comes out.
