Laz had a good idea on this post, so I'd figure I'd create a topic where we can post some pictures for this would be nice.

The idea is to post pictures that have some element about it that reminds you of Shinkai's styles in his movies.  It could have something to do with the skies or clouds, camera angle, or colors and the dance of lighting around objects that made you think "hey, this could be in a Shinkai movie!".

Here's a few shots of mine (Keep in mind, I don't even do photography as a hobby, but sometimes my vacation pics or other random picture come out in a way that stands out to me.  None of these have been processed other than resizing for web usage):

The follow were all pictures I took while on vacation in October last year in Six Flags - Fiesta in San Antonio, Texas.

Let's start with a shot of the sky, with a few manmade structures (parking lot lights?) peeking out out of the bottom of the fram, with a lense flare effect from the sun peeking out:

The color of the cliff and sky really stood out to me in this picture, with a nice shots of fluffy clouds:

Hey, this looks familiar from somewhere...

This is my favorite shot from the whole lot.  There's a bit of a lense flare, but the sun does not totally drown out the rest of the image.  The roller coaster is clearly at the peak of the rise there and is about to go down the turning drop.  The greenery, to me, also helps with the look.  I can see this looking quite stunning with a bit of work.

And for the final shot, I liked the look of the clouds here above the cliffs.  The cars and parking lot is dark because it was all surrounded by cliffs.  If I had thought about it, I should have taken a picture towards the sunset to see what it looked like, but I'm guessing it really didn't look all that impressive or something:

Show off your work, too!  Commentary is optional.  Smile

I liked the first one because I love the sky.

I love how the sunlight creates a beautiful effect on the clouds lighting them up.

The clouds look incredible in the first picture of the buildings that you posted, Menasha.

Took these today with a very nice Canon Rebel XL with some sort of lens I'm not sure! It's very expensive and it's the schools, glad I'm able to borrow it!
Last one is weird I took it out of my parents room.

The first one reminds me of something long forgotten yet I can still remember the feeling of being there before.

I like the last one also, can't really tell if it's dawn or evening but with the darkening clouds and the sunlight still brightly visible on the horizon,
it kind of gives me hope.

The landscape wherever you live is incredible, Menasha. I especially like the last two picture you posted. The last one is especially Shinkai-esque.
