In each of Shinkai's movies there are specific dates (i.e. first time that Takaki and Akari meet, etc. ...) As you're watching, if you come across those dates ... please post. The forthcoming new forum/blog site should have calendar functionality ... and those would be cool dates to know about.

July 3rd, 2047 - When Noboru gets her first message.
August 3rd, 2047 - Mikako sends next text message from Jupiter.
January 24th, 2048 - Noboru checks and he gets no message yet.
August 4th, 2047 - Mikako sends message
August 20th, 2048 - Noboru gets a message that was sent 8/4/47
September 16, 2047 - Mikako sends text from Agartha

I was trying to figure out the date for the flight of the Bela Ciela from "The Place Promised..." I haven't been able to pin down the exact date, so I'll share what clues I found to see if anyone else can solve the puzzle.
CLUE #1. When Hiroki loads the VC operating system given to him by Takaya, the screen reads "Last work: Fri March 22 23:02:10." Does this indicate the last time Hiroki accessed the computer or when Takaya finished upgrading it and copied it to disk? (Incidently, March 22, 1999 was actually a Monday.)
CLUE #2. When Takaya and Maki are in the lab, we're shown the cover of "Weekly News" magazine. The date at the bottom reads 1999 3/28, or March 28, 1999.
CLUE #3. During the last Uilta meeting, Okabe says that in three days there would be a declaration of war, the same morning that the Bela Ciela takes off.
CLUE #4. While eating together, Takaya asks Hiroki when he got there, and he says the day before yesterday, meaning that was his 3rd day there. If this was the same day as the Uilta meeting, then the Bela Ciela took off on his 6th day there.
CLUE #5. There appears to be a date on the monitor in Sayuri's room at the Army College facility. We see this while Takaya is visiting her with Tomizawa, but the glare of the room lighting makes it hard to read.
That's about all I could glean. Anyone else has any ideas?
