Junpei was having problems a few weeks ago, but they seem to be better. I have not experienced any difficulties. I like this small forum, I'm gogint o be here for a long time.

I think you might experience some slowness on the site now that the animated banner is up. Let me know if you have any problems.

Hey Laz,

I have a question: is it possible to display the latest posts in the forum as a panel, perhaps at the top or bottom of the forum? I know there is a feature to display recent posts as the first page for visitors and members.

It might make for easier navigation if we are looking for recent posts rather than searching through the forum? It helps also if there is more than one recent post in a subforum - in which case the subforum recent post section would not show?

Just my thoughts. Cheers.

You're welcome. =) For Invision Forums (I'm not sure whether this phpbb is under Invision?), it's under System Settings >> IPDynamic Lite setup. Hope this helps.

So I've moved stuff to the bottom of the page just to keep the forum part uncluttered. Would you all prefer these tables across the top in three columns equally spanning the page .... or at the bottom?

What do you think?

Just a few operational items ...

1. I'd like to use some of your photos or artwork as the image for the "Arts" thread ... is that cool ? Let me know if you would rather I not do that. I will always ask you first if it's ok, for whatever I would like to put there.

2. I'm looking at adding a chatango chat room widget to the site. Not sure what is will do to the speed of the page/site ... but we'll see.

3. Our friends in China have been chatting with me about having a chat/community where we can come together and chat. Right now they have a chat group on QQ. I'd like to have more of a browser based chat, so you all don't ned to download anything yourself. Anyway ... I have the QQ information if you want to download, install and join their discussions.

4. Led Zeppelin rules!

5. Looks like we might be getting some bots or folks posting ads. I may need to put some tougher security (captcha, etc.) on the registration. If it's apparent that someone is just spamming ads I will ban them and delete the threads.

The only problem I see with chat is that so few are online at the same time. But it would be nice, especially if everyone had a specific time or time period when we could all be there together, or at least most of us.

I prefer the browser-based chat, nothing fancy, though.

Also, are you considering an open chat or a subscriber's only chat?

Hey Gleo ... right now I'm looking at Chatango ... which would be a very open based chat. I think it would be cool for folks on here to maybe socialize a little more. Also, the folks in China are very interested in chatting and exchanging cultural stuff. I've chatted with some of the folks there and it's very interesting discussing anime or even Shinkai with them.

Anyway ... if it doesn't work ... no harm, no foul Smile

The Place Promised pic on the forums homepage is a bit grainy/blurry. I was thinking we should use either a higher quality version of that pic (http://img530.imageshack.us/my.php?image=vlcsnap4292728iy3.png), or a completely different one - one that more embodies the scope of the movie. Like the other one that was suggested a while ago [http://i96.photobucket.com/albums/l174/rocketmangrf/voc.jpg]. I've uploaded a few which could be used if you guys are with me.

I've added a Feedjit widget on the bottom ... I've seen these in a few places and I was curious since I will usually check the ADMIN page when I see a lot of visitors. Most of the time the visitors are Bots but occasionally we have visitors that are really people. Anyway ... if you find this annoying, let me know and I can remove it.

I've added a clock widget that I've set for GMT + 12 and also a COuntdown widget that is counting down to the start of the Global Shinkai Day. All that's left is getting the detail on the 6 hour chunks of time and then we'll be ready to spread the word.

If anyone has any other suggestions, please let me know.
