WOOOOOO HOOOOOOOOOOWe've reached the point of 50 members on the Forums  WOW ... Little did I think that when put this forum out there that there would be 5 much less 50 people out there that lurv Shinkai as much as me. Awesome!
Thanks again to everyone who has contributed to the discussions on the Forum. You all rock!
The First contest will be over at the end of this month. I'll get out a Poll soon and have the final tally towards the end of July. The winner will get a Shinkai related prize (DVD, etc.).

Wow, you are so right. I've been taking each new member for granted and didn't realise until now a solid 40 others have signed up to this forum after me.
Haha, I guess Shinkai's animations are more directed at males. Well you can see in most, if not all, of his stories are in favour of males, if that's how you said it... What I mean is that these stories seem kind of like boyhood fantasies and dreams, things we find beautiful, to probably the majority of the audiences.

The joke is that we are predominately male ... with some females ... but we also don't have any Tarsians or cats on the boards either.

I actually thought you wrote the Tenmon music analysis as a high school student.. I guess it's hard to tell someone's age over the net.. You have my respect for liking anime as an adult, you're so cool!
I'm sorry to get offtopic like this, but I think it's just awesome that we have people of different ages here, we got variety unlike many other discussion boards.

Here's what really sucks (Australian's might understand a little better) - I turn 18 the day after I get back from schoolies...
Which just means I have to get a fakey, which I've arranged.

WOW Gleo ... I thought I was the oldest one here (39.5).
For those of us older folks, especially in the States ... I went to a great panel at Otakon this weekend called "Old Farts Anime" ... it was a bunch of folks about my age talking about the anime we watched as kids. I'll talk about it more in my Otakon thread. I had forgotten so much that I'd watched. Anyway ... Older Otaku Unite!

I still have the url (cherryblossomsfalling.com) and I guess I'll just have a redirect from that to here. It's a little easier to remember than cheryblossomsfalling.myfastforum.org. The people who manage myfastfourms have made it a little tricky for folks to redirect (they want you to use their own service). I'll get that redirect in there some day
