Don't tell me you didn't see this coming. :P

Okay, so I've been trying to become better at photography recently. I'd like to be able to do more than 'just point, shoot and hope it turns out well because you don't know anything about how to take a picture' photography. :P Tips and criticism are always welcome.

(By the way, the blur effect in the background of most of these is unintentional. The camera does it that by itself whenever it focuses. Also, the camera I'm using is a "KONICA MINOLTA DYNAX 5D," apparently. I resized all of my pictures to ~800x600... Is that about right?)

A picture of a rose bush. I didn't really like how this one turned out... I think it's too bright.

I like this one. :D

I think there's too much foliage in this one... It takes away from the flowers. :/

Just some clouds.

This one is too dark, I think. :/

Two blackberry flowers.

I stole the idea for this one from my brother. :P

I like the clouds in this one, but that is the ugliest tree I have ever seen. xP

You say the camera does that automatically? Perhaps try messing around with the manual settings. Then you have some more creative authority!

I'm not a great photography myself but just looking at them i think they are some really nice photos. The really like the clouds one.

Here are a few more:

I didn't really like this one.

A fountain on my front porch. I didn't really like how this one turned out, either. :/

Some Japanese honeysuckles growing in my back yard. This is probably my favorite picture of the group

A star jasmine. I think this one was too bright, too.

Some more clouds. I like clouds. :P I think the trees at the bottom make it seem sort of cut off, though.

A large drainage ditch past my back yard. It actually looks better in the picture than in real life. :P

Some random flowers I found growing in the ditch.

This would have been a nice picture, but the camera focused on the wrong thing. xP

There's only so much to take pictures of around my house, so I think I'm going to try to take some pictures a bit further around my neighborhood. I'm not sure when I'll get the chance, though. :/

Oh, yeah. I know just about nothing about cameras (the only thing I knew how to do up until ~5 hours ago was how to actually take a picture :P ) so if anyone has any advice at all I'll be that much better off. xD

Some of the pictures I've taken recently:

I think this one didn't turn out too badly.

It's just a decorative plant-thing.

I think you use this in a garden, but I don't know what it's called. :p

This one could have been better...

The picture doesn't do it justice. The sky was so beautiful when I took this picture.

Vacant floats on the pool in my back yard.

A crazy looking cloud at the beach.

I like the idea of this picture.

This one wasn't actually supposed to be grainy; I had been using the grainy setting for a different picture, and forgot to switch it back. Sad

It's a lily, but I don't know what kind.

You have a great camera there.

I especially liked the ditch and the sky photos, really beautiful.

I am not that much of a flower person as I'm the more large and free landscape types but I liked the one with the petals on the surface of the water, great idea.

Hope you've been improving in your technical skills.
