Ahhhh .. Gleowine ... There is an English Dub thread in the 5 CM per Second Topic Smile

But feel free to start a new one if you like Smile

I tend to check out the Dubs but usually after I've watched something with Subs ... just in case it sucks in the Dub.

I like it best in japanese with subtitles --- because the emotion is there and incredibly moving. The english voice actors take a lot away from the over all effect of the movie.

But regardless, I'm still dying to get my hands on a copy of the English Dubbed DVD --- someday...soon. *sigh*.

I've only seen snatches of it --- previews and such --- so I guess I really shouldn't judge it too quickly, but the voices do nothing for me so far.

I haven't seen the dub and personally I would prefer not to, but I wanted to comment that I have the NA release DVD, and I think the $30 I spent for it would have been better spent towards the japanese edition -_-

The packaging is quite pathetic, with a clear case but no reversible cover or anything. There are no inserts except for a single slip advertisement for Devil May Cry 4 on PS3/Xbox360...

It is really lackluster coming from a packaging standpoint, but honestly I haven't watched the dvd yet, but I believe it comes with the interview extra and everything subtitled, with the main feature being dubbed of course. I haven't seen it since I last saw the fansub just about a year ago...I don't know if my emotionally sensitive self can handle it again... lol

I've only watched the movie twice --- I guess maybe I'm afraid the effect might not be the same as it was in the beginning.

I haven't seen the Dub yet either ... I'm interested but it's not a priority. Whew .... I re-watched 5 CM about 5 times this past week ... just gets better and better.

One of my new fav scenes ... the morning after Akari and Takaki spend the night together ... the sun coming up on the snow ... just breath taking.

I never realized all those moments in the second segment .. where Takaki is on the hill and he looks over and it is Akari ... sheesh. I need to pay more attention. It never had as much weight a it did these past few times. That he was still dreaming/seeing her at that point.
