thanks for that link IsUa ...
The best thing I saw on there was the Valkyria Chronicles anime.
If you haven't gotten that game yet for the PS3 definitely check it out. I love it

OK, so I just got the DVD #1 yesterday, and watched the first 2 episodes and really like the show. (Why only 2 episodes? I don't want to rush the experience.) So, now I'm resisting the urge to look at the previous posts. I'll just hold off until after Episode# 12.
BTW, dango, dango, dango. . . . . . I love that song. |

Are you starting with the first series, not the After Story, right?
Yeah ... I would definitely get this series on DVD ... excellent.
Anyone seen Air ? It's a series done by the same company that did Clannad.

I saw Air and I thought it was going to be "like" Clannad, but I don't think it reached that goal.
I'd be interested in hearing what you have to say

Air is something special to me. It didn't top my favorites as high as Clannad did but after I finished the anime, it locked into me. I would have to say deeply too.
I made a comparison between Nagisa and Misuzu for their main feminine characte role in Clannad and Air, as well as their extraordinary cuteness and it took me a long while to decide which one I found cuter (Yes, "goo goo ga ga" childlike cuteness). After several switchings I finally ended up with Misuzu mostly because of her inability to write anything maturely. And she draws too! >_< I don't really know why. It just appeals to me haha...
Most of the anime I watch I roughly categorise into either enjoyable or beautiful. After watching Air, I realised I had to form a new category: inspirational (though it was a mixture of all 3), for it was the first anime that I can remember which actually made me act because of what I've seen. (I began writing for leishure then which I found great for passing time)
Anyone who hasn't seen Air yet I reccomend you to do so. KEY is just amazing.

I'm starting at the beginning of the original series. Still a long ways from watching After Story.
Air is one of my tops, both the series and the movie. The movie is a retelling of the story, focusing more on Misuzu (I watch it whenever I need a good cry). Even though the series ended with a strange turn of events, I still loved how Misuzu's and Haruko's relationship deepened in the last episodes. Of course, the feel of it is different from that of Kanon (only seen the first episode) and Clannad. Air seems more mythical (almost like a fairy-tale) because of the supernatural element, while the other two seem more realistic and down-to-earth.
If I were to compare the three series, I'd say they all have a common theme of family and parenthood, where a single male lead who starts off as a loner gets involved with several female characters and comes to understand the importance of family and friendship. I'm not sure yet if Clannad is headed in that direction (y'all know better), but I'm really loving it after only 6 episodes. I can kind of visualize where it's going, but I'll try not to look too far ahead. |

Going to start Air, tomorrow... for what I read...look's like another excelent Anime...let see
The story, look's very interesting...more aerial, mythical (like Gleowine said)... and the characters very well defined (as usual with KyoAni)... so, I'm waiting with expectancy...hehehe
So... it look's that Misuzu is more childish than Nagisa (Junpei)... hehehe... can't wait to see this... then we make a poll... hahaha or like they say who's the most Kawaii... _________________

There's a 4th DVD that has a kind of recap version of Misuzu's story, plus a filler story for the Princess Kanna part, giving more details about their journey through the countryside.
******* S P O I L E R S **********
Yeah, Yukito just disappears for some reason. Actually, I think they wanted people to believe that he's suppose to somehow be reincarnated as the bird. Yeah, I know, that makes no sense whatsoever. I guess they wanted to focus more on Misuzu's and Haruko's relationship and needed the guy out of the way. So they came up with that little strange twist.
The movie version, which was produced by another studio, keeps him in the story to the end.
I hope I didn't give too much away.
