I've seen this on Danny Choo a lot lately and the folks from China were curious as to my "otaku room".

Here are some pics of my TV/COmputer/Anime room ...

What do your otaku rooms/areas look like?

Dammit, I want your room so bad, Laz! *steals whole bookcase* Love the whole old feel your desk has, sure has personality.

Except a few manga volumes there isn't virtually any manga/anime merch to buy around here, so my room is stuffed full of cat posters... But I adore my video games, I keep them nicely placed inside my desk along with a huge poster with the map from Lord of the Rings and Matrix (I used to be a rabid fan). I'd take a pic, but my camera is dead at the moment. It's so weird that the area around my video game cases is tidy but my books and other study-related stuff is a complete mess....

Nice collection Laz. It makes a powerul contrast on mine. I feel so un-otaku haha.

I have 3 manga books, ahem. All in Japanese.

Well, if we're going to have this, I'll post my collection and setup.  I've copied this from this  blog post.

Behold! The Hall of Anime!
Actually, the nearest shelf contains my housemate's anime DVDs. The further shelf houses my girfriend's and my DVDs. Two-thirds of it is mine; I have maybe about 10 boxes of non-anime. Here's a picture with only my anime DVDs in it:

My Anime Collection: Look how it stretches into the darkness!
Here's my current collection.
What also should be included in this list is probably the following picture:

The Acquisition and Storage Systems: Click on the picture for more info on them.
These are what I use to acquire and store anime that isn't available in R1 DVDs yet. It's also where I mostly write these poorly written blog posts. Click on the picture if you want the boring details on them, but I'm moving on.
Here's the living room setup:

The Viewing Area: Click on the picture for the gritty details.
And this is where I do over 95% of my anime viewing. In rare cases, I may watch anime on my computer, but I'd rather stretch out on the couch or recliner and watch it on the bigger screen.

Wink

UPDATE:  You should be able to see the wallpaper more clearly with the original picture.  You should also can see the game boxes much clearer, and the fact that I need to clean the dust and cat hair out of the front panel of the server...

And you might be able to spot the AMD Athon sticker on the server box which is actually running an Intel Celeron processor...

Zitch ... that's awesome. I love the DMC on the tv as well Smile

Looks like you're the reigning king of Otaku Room on the site Smile

I definitely need some more manga and and going to be purchasing some more figures ... waiting for deals at  few upcoming conventions. Also some more anime ... I just hate buying them a DVD at a time.

Laz

I've always preferred getitng boxsets for series for this reason.  Plus you don't go through the agony of waiting a month or two for the next DVD to come out...  But occaisionally I'll collect the individual DVDs if I'm a big enough fan of a series (Like with Full Moon, though it sucks that Viz doesn't seem to be releasing past volume 7 of that one... Sad ).  I usually keep track on Robert's Anime Corner Store or Right Stuf or Amazon for deals on anime I want.  Sometimes, for example, Right Stuf had 10 DVDs for $50 or 25 DVDs for $100 sales going on (though usually for certain anime companies) and you can really rack up on some DVDs for really cheap at times.  But's its a matter of putting some money aside and checking everyday for deals on the sites.
