Makoto Shinkai English Fan Forum and Site

hi,
I'm a 21 year old computer graphics student living in belgium (but my parents are from france and egypt)
I saw the trailer for beyond the clouds at an anime convention and it seemed reall great... I couldn't wait for it to come out...I saw voices of a distant star and was even more eager for it to come out.

when it finalle came out, I watched it right away and was completely blown away. I then watched all the short films he made and then, finally, 5 cm per second came out...which (imo) was even greater than beyond the clouds, even though it was less "epic". I actually cried a few times and the music gave me goosebumps...absolutely loved it.

I just stumbled upon this website by accident through an anime blog I found via google (while searching for something related to makoto shinkai)
a friend of mine is going to japan this summer, I asked her to get me as much shinkai related stuff as she can

Hey everybody

I'm a college student from the Philippines. A few friends from the Uni introduced me to my first Shinkai movie, which was 5 Centimeters Per Second. I found out there were other films done by Mr Shinkai, and I watched The Place Promised in Our Early Days, and Voices of a Distant Star, in that order. I'm just re-watching She and Her Cat. So I basically did things in reverse.

I found out about you guys from a wiki article (I think) and I've been lurking for a few months, looking for news, but now it's time to post. Hehe
