Hellllloooooo!!!
I am a fan for Mr. Shinkai's work, I saw kanojo to kanojo no neko, hoshi no koe, kumo no muko, byousoku 5 cm, and the cat commercial.. in order.. I was very impressed how Mr. Shinkai did Hoshi no Koe by himself, and ofcourse my fav is Kumo no Muko.
I believe Mr. Shinkai is a very talented person, as well as kind and nice in real life.
Mr. Shinkai's work popularity was limited in my country (Syria) but it increased quickly due to the fact he is coming to Syria (W00t!!11) to attend the screening of his films and make an animation creation workshop (I'm attending) and this is not the end of the story, I will post in another topic
I found this forum via MSFW fan site, thanks for making such forum!!

Lucky to have Shinkai-san come to your country. I wish he would come to Australia. |

Well, I've had an account here for some time now but I haven't properly introduced myself here too well yet.
I was introduced to Shinkai when I did a purchase of the Voices of a Distant Star and The Place Promised in Our Early Days DVD pack and sat down to watch VoaDS. I was highly impressed by what was being presented in the movie, and astonished that it was animated by a single person. My most favorite Shinkai animation is She and Her Cat. There, he is forced by the limited running time to not include many extraneous details in the script, but the 5 minute animation still manages to say quite alot.
Other anime series that I like include The Twelve Kingdoms, Haibane Renmei, Planetes, Kino's Journey, Mushishi, and Vision of Escaflowne.
My other hobbies include firearms shooting, ice hockey and ice skating, and blogging, occaisionally. |

| Welcome Zitch, hope you enjoy your stay! She and Her Cat would be my favorite the next being Tooki Sekai. His short limited animations are basically what I think one would call visual poetry. |

Hi, everyone!
An acquaintance mentioned a guy named "Makoto Shinkai" that made some good movies, so I thought I'd see if he really was any good. I watched "Beyond the Clouds, the Promised Place" and decided I really liked Shinkai's works. After I recovered from the overdose of sheer awesomeness, I mean.
Since then, I've watched "Hoshi no Koe," "5 Centimeters Per Second" and "She and Her Cat". Out of all of them, 5 Centimeters Per Second is my absolute favorite, but they're all incredible.
I was, needless to say, delighted to find a Makoto Shinkai fan-site that is English-based and (so far as I can tell) still active!
