Wow, it would be awesome if we could start-up a Shinkai-related audio stream. Perhaps with news, commentary, etc. Not sure if there would be much to cover, till a new release came out or a new blog. Still, a nice thought.

Ok, after some testing with gleowine this weekend, it looks like Skype is *not* going to work. Even outside the what seemed to be 10-second round trip between us (and we were in the *same* state, even), the conferencing ability just doesn't seem robust enough to work for this purpose (Mainly, I can't figure out how to add people to an existing conference).
So, I guess I'm back to Ventrilo. I'll either rent a server, or make use of my girlfriend's 40-user server for this. I'll have it setup and the connect info here for the final test this coming weekend (Most likely Saturday).

If they're using Ventrilo, you can join the voice chat and hear what everyone is saying without having to speak yourself. Ventrilo also has a text chat that you can use simultaneously with the voice chat, so we could use that for all the people that don't have mics. _________________ "This land is all too shallow

Could release a podcast which is basically just a translation of Shinkai's blog being read out. If anyone knows about making podcast i'm sure they'd be able to embed the photos Shinkai often post too _________________ "...Kanae fanboys represent!" - Zitch
I did a little reading on this, and it seems that there is a little more involved in setting up a podcast than I thought. But it's not impossible. Need to do more research.

The password is for logging into the server; use it for the server setup.
Once you're in, you have to go into the following channel:
Channel: Cherry Blossoms Falling
Channel Password: shinkai09
(That is "shinkai" - zero - nine)
Final test connection tomorrow at noon CST.
I hope to get more detailed instructions up this weekend.
BTW, this was the chat server my girlfriend used when she was playing World of Warcraft, but it's largely unused right now. I hope to get some good chats going next week.
In truth, next time we hold something like this, I'll be looking into using Dimdim or Teamspeak 3.
