| Thanks, Gleowine. I do plan on doing a more detailed tutorial (with some images similar looking to how you put it up there), though I probably don't have the nice annotation tools you apparently have (I'll have to use the unfortunately named GIMP, which is capable but overkill for this). |

Actually, all I did was use two built-in programs on Mac OS: Grab for capturing the screen image, and Preview for adding the text boxes. I try to do the most with the least, when I can. |

Just a technical note. I just figured out what the problem was connecting to Ventrillo in the beginning. If you setup Ventrilo, but the main window only says "Contacting Server" and does not connect, then it might be your firewall. Go into your firewall settings and lower it one level. Ventrilo should connect then. I'd recommend only doing this for Ventrilo. Any other time, put the firewall back up.
EDIT: Another solution is to set your firewall to allow access to port 4768, if there is a setting for doing this. This way you won't have to lower your firewall. Look for settings for OUTBOUND traffic and see if it will let you make changes to this. Yeah, I know this is all technical stuff, but if you're feeling adventurous, go for it. Try not to break anything. |

| Well, I'll hang out at Vent for the whole day, go to sleep after the 1st set-showing, then wake-up and continue until work. |

I just updated the first post here with the ventrilo information, but I'm repeating it here:
Here's the connection info:
Host: 74.54.222.40
Port: 4768
Password: 19zeek81
The password is for logging into the server; use it for the server setup.
Once you're in, you have to go into the following channel:
Channel: Cherry Blossoms Falling
Channel Password: shinkai09
(That is "shinkai" - zero - nine)
Also, Press the "Chat" button to open up the text chat window. This will allow those without Mics to participate. |
