Miyajima is a decent sized island off the coast of West Hiroshima. We had to take an hour bus ride to get to the ferry. It was Golden Week to the place was packed. It would've been nicer with less people ....

I am staying in Hakata area so these temples and shrines were in the area. My friend was working so I went wandering around with my camera ...

Kushida Shrine -

Tochiji Temple -

Random Shrine in Parking lot ...

Small shrine where a mermaid was buried in 1222 ...

Tochiji Temple -

Shofukuji Temple - I really liked this place ... sat here for a while an just relaxed.

Then spent a few hours getting some sun (burn) along the river ... took some shots from up river to down river ... I need to stick them all together.

This Shrine is tucked away in the city and you'd never realize how big it is if you didn't wander around it. Very cool place. Also ... saw a shrine maiden working too ... kawaii Smile

It was really pretty affordable.

The flight was about 1300 or so. The hotel room, which was Smalllllllllll ... was about $110 USD a night.

Food and everything else was pretty reasonable. I went out for really nice dinner one night and I was shocked that the bill was about $130 and the wine was almost half the bill Smile
