What does it sound like Gleowine?

Sorry, Laz, I just saw this post and am late to respond.

"Song for Ritzuko Okazaki" is music from Fruits Basket. It's about half instrumental music, half vocal, with Miss Okazaki doing the vocals herself. I guess I like it, because I identify the music with the anime so much. The whole recording was done as a tribute to her, after her untimely death. The cover even has special art by Natzuki Takaya (manga-ka for Fruits Basket). Very moving.

Hi Gleowine,

I've never checked out Fruits Basket ... I'll add it to the list.

Everyone should check out Jonathan Coulton. He's a really really awesome comedy folk singer/songwriter from the US. He's one of the people who I would kill (someone else) to meet (along with Makoto Shinkai).

Here's one of his great live shows (although chances are I'll never get to see him live as he only ever tours the US and London - maybe someday...)

This one's called "Soft Rocked by Me" but instead of finishing the song the usual way he launches into a medley of other classic songs by other artists. The vibe during the shows is evident even through the shakey footage.

His myspace is here: http://www.myspace.com/jonathancoulton

I seriously adore this guy. He's nerdy and lame but he's witty, funny, and a great composer too.

Australian members: If you like it (or even if you don't, for my sake) go and request him at "Eventful" to play in Sydney because he actually pays attention to eventful and uses it to decide where's worth playing.

Hope he suits some of your musical tastes!

I have finally discovered who Tenmon is! His name is Atsushi Shirakawa and was born in Tokyo in 1971. He is also a member of the Falcom Sound Team jdk and is best known for his work on the Ys series of games.

Here's a list of his music. http://ilike.com/artist/Tenmon/most_played_songs

Wow, Tenmon was quite the epic literally translated name (gates of Heaven) according to wikipeida.

Junpei - by "discovered", do you mean "looked up on wikipedia"?

Actually if you look at Tenmon's wikipedia page I've edited it:

That's me!

Ha - I didn't mean to sound so derogatory.

It's just that wikipedia was one of the first places I looked to find out about Tenmon, so I'm surprised Junpei didn't go straight for it in the first place - I (ashamedly) use wikipedia to find out any and all obscure facts.

And I just remembered that I'd edited it a while back. It's probably just grammar or a broken link fix or something - yet Tenmon's page is so inactive that I'm still in the last four edits haha.

Derogatory? I thought you were makeing a point of how unreliable Wikipedai can be for information due to the fact anyone can change the data haha!
