| I don't like spoilers. I want to see everything for myself in full. |

I've been reading the FLCL novel's. They are pretty good. Some scenes are similar to the anime, even identical, but most of it is new stuff, or just a different series of events that lead roughly to the same outcomes. It keeps the explicit situations and sex humor which is great because its hilarious. There are only 2 volumes as of now, not sure if more will come. _________________ "This world, I think we like it" |

| I had ben getting Newtype USA over the past year and they'd recently gone under. I just got the first edition of the new mag that the group put out called PIQ. It's really very good ... has info on more than just anime/manga (Comics, movies, etc.). Check it out. |

Went to the city yesterday and found a large bookstore in a shopping center. And when I say large I meant it was the biggest bookstore I've ever seen in my life.
It even had an entire section for anime and manga! There were English translated manga and the original Japanese manga plus a lot of other comics as well. Ya it was crowded. I was disappointed though because they didn't have some titles I was looking for, probably not in stores yet.
Yeah, pretty amazing place and can't wait to visit it again. |

I've just finished The Twelve Kingdoms: Volume Two[i] novel. The anime that was made from this series was what got me into watching anime as an artform rather than just entertainment, and the book doesn't disappoint. Of course, the novels go into more detail of the main character's experiences, but the adaptation to the anime was handled as well as it could have. Sticking strictly to the novels wouldn't have worked as well.
Also was up to volume 12 of [i]Berserk. Haven't yet gotten past where the series ended, but I'm really enjoying the characters and their interactions in the manga even more. The violence and the sex are just extra...
Which reminds me, I need to continue with the Monster manga. To me, its best qualities are similar to Berserk, but Monster is set in modern times with a much bigger cast. |

Being reading dictionaries a lot lately particularly my new Japanese dictionary... ...otherwise random manga in their original print. I'm trying to get the hang of Japanese as much as possible. I'm quite hapy now that I can read Hiragana and Katakana fluently.
