I don't think much will be done this week on the banner! I have an assignment in both art and multimedia as well as personal stuff I wish to work on.
Not that there's any rush just letting you knwo since I said it would be done this week.

Not that this is relevant to the forums banner i'd love for anyone to comment on my latest effort~ one night and it's 4am now *yawn*
WARNING! ISH VERY BIIG!!
I tired to use a number of stills from the movie to make the sakura look animated, but i couldn't find a large enough video.
I might do a smaller one soon though.
Also i'd love to know how you animated the petals. It's something i'd love to learn. |

| That could be a good banner actually. I can see about half way through an image that would make a good banner just being one image alone. It has Takaki and Akari in the background and a good composition! |

I know what you mean! It was originally a banner for a blog. But 1) The blog doesn't seem to like .gifs. 2) The firist time around the image is really jerky and it goes so slowly it takes ages to see it again, properly.
I really wanted the whole image in there but that was too tall so i had the idea to try and make it scroll up. |

How hard would it be to take one of the images from the movie and animate the falling petals over that?

The after effects plan I had did not work since my school does not have the required plug-ins. There not cheap either!
So I'm just redueing my flash animation, working imensly faster then I did before. I think ill just use Maltos's idea of useing one of shinkai's backgrounds. |

468x60 is the standard size for a web banner. The one on this site is double that. How ever I'm makeing it 3 times that size at the moment since I'm getting into little details with the petals falling. Ill just resize it later.
If you have alot of detail in a piece you will want to make it larger then the print size. Some of the backgroudns in 5 cm are most likely made 5-6 times the print size! (Just a guess though) But I think hat's what his quad core was for. Not to mention the particals in aftereffects. That takes ALOT out of a cpu.
