Another thing I noticed in the montage tonight ...

As the song is playing ... They show Takaki riding his scooter and he looks into a field and imagines he sees Akari. Also, he's on a train platform and he imagines he sees her running in the snow. I find myself feeling sorry for Takaki ... that Akari affected him so much that he just couldn't let her go. I guess I'm still a little conflicted by him. Hmmmm .... I hope things turn out alright for him

Every-time I hear this song at the end, it just breaks me up.

The part where Kanae is watching the plane fly away always gets to me. ;_;

I kind of like the scene of her riding off in her moped. I always get the feeling saying "I know you will be just fine from now on Kanae." I didn't really notice it till I read it in the summary of the novel I gave but the reason Kanae did not confess her feelings was because of the cold look Takaki gave her when he turned around. I re watched that part and the shot of his face after he urns around looks cold. Think he says something like "what is it?"

I'm glad Takaki relises how many people he's hurt in the novel, though I wonder if he will ever find love!

Ok ... I haven' read the synopsis from the novel ... and he may have hurt Kanae ... but surely it wasn't on purpose. Unreturned love/feelings is "humanity 101", I'd have a hard time blaming Takaki for that.

I'm kinda torn with that as well. It's the balance between getting more insight into the film and maybe dispelling some of my own personal thoughts on the movie. I'll probably get the novel and use it as incentive to learn how to read Japanese.

A lot of the images are very telling.

I noticed one that goes by quickly, showing Takaki and Risa in his bed. They're turned away from each other, and there are several details about the room that speak volumes.

This seems to be Shinkai's specialty, putting all sorts of little details in each frame. However, you don't notice them, unless you hit "pause" and look around.

Ah yes I remember discussing that a while back. The ending with One more time, One more chance went quite fast so it is impossible to see everything without pausing it at each scene.
