"Millenium Actress" to me was very entertaining and beautifully done. Then this past weekend I watched "Perfect Blue." It was weird and interesting and kept me on the edge of my seat. Still, some things about it were very disturbing. Though I really liked the story and characters, watching it just once was enough.

I expected a little bit more from Perfect Blue ... I kinda got bored after a while and fast forwarded through most of it I liked the art and the story was ok .. it just didn't do it for me

Anyone checked out the Blade of the Immortal anime out yet? It's on episode 2 and I'm loveing it so far love the singing in the anime as well, not to mention the opening completly owns somethign very new.
They get right to Hiroaki Samura's bondage thing right from the get go XD
(Author of Blade of the Immortal likes to draw women being tortured on spare time. Wha ever floats his boat! But he draws so damn good!) _________________ You know your old when, you reapeat things... you repeat things... you repeat things. |

| Just finished watching the series Noein. There were long periods between getting each disk, so it was hard picking up the story again each time. Overall I really liked it, though the Quantum Mechanical stuff was a bit hard to keep up with. |

Hey Gleo,
If you have cable, they occaisiaonlly play Noein on the SciFi channel ... that's where I first saw it. I liked the story though it was a little difficult to keep up with at times. Good stuff.

Thanks, Laz.
Right now, I have a satellite dish but no subscriptions to anything. Which is fine with me. Every so often, Funimation Channel is in the clear for a few months, though watching their same 10 shows over and over day after day gets mighty stale after awhile (and they run the same 10 commercials 24/7 ad nauseum, as well). That's why I rent anime. Gives a little more variety to life. |

Gleowine,
Where in Louisiana are you located at? I'm in Lafayette, but maybe we can meet up some weekend and watch stuff some weekend if you're not too far away. I'm sure you'd be able to find something you'd like out of the collection, or out of the stuff I've downloaded...
I used to hold an "anime night" for some time where I'd get people together to show some anime, but I ended up cancelling it due to lack of interest (and the people I know around here who have interests in anime are some of the biggest slackers I know...). I wouldn't mind starting it back up, though. |

That'd be great, except that I'm about 2 hours or more east of Lafayette. If you ever have a get together on a Saturday during the day, I'd try to make it then. Wait until later in the year though. The next several weeks will be hectic for me.
BTW, I might be going to JumpCon in New Orleans in December. It's still a bit iffy, though. Want to meet there? |

It will be on Saturday over the day. Probably starting at like 10 AM or something and lasting as long as people want it to last, with breaks for lunch and dinner or for whatever. Right now, I'm not holding it to any specific format.
The next couple of weekends probably wouldn't be too good for me either. Maybe we can plan something for next month or something. |

That sounds pretty good with me. Let me know if there's a general consensus regarding a date.
