Some aristocratic adventures (since he's in London) would be interesting, considering how Japan's gothic culture always reinvents the 19th century Victorian costumes.

Or a travelogue Wink

I'd love to see some victorian style adventure set in London with emphasis on time and how time passes away, and that we should make the most of it. With lots of references to clocks and mechanical industry and maybe steam powered robots in their somewhere.
It'd be like Steamboy, but better. With a love story put in. He could write something about someone missing the opportunity to confess to another person.

I'm basically just asking him to make my favourite theme into a film.
Please do it Mr. Shinkai. Pretty please.

Mmm you have a brilliant idea there. Shinkai could merge his SF direction with steampunk! There should be quite a lot of similar material to deal with with respect to the Distance Trilogy.

P.S.: Wiki here in case you guys are not familiar with the concept---http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Steampunk

Time is really a nice theme ^^
I loved the way he turned time into distance on Hoshi no Koe XP

But about the adult stuff... I don't think it's going to happen...
"Considering the changes of my mind that I went through when I was growing up from junior to senior high to adult, I feel that various things were not properly digested, and I'm wondering whether I myself have grown enough or not.
I want to take another look at the problems which I had not digested and had passed without solving by making films. I am also turn these feelings into my works."
