EMMA: A VICTORIAN ROMANCE (1ST SEASON), that is. I loved the manga, and I'm loving the anime even more. I was hoping for a dub version, but this sub-only one from Rightstuf is still a pleasure to watch.
Also, I think the new thin-style of packaging the DVDs (1/4 inch case) is the way to go. The old style (1/2 inch case) was just a lot of wasted space, especially if you wanted to pack your bookcase with extra titles.
Have finished Season 2 of Emma, which concludes the series. This is the kind of stuff that thrills me to no end. If you like old-fashioned romance stories, it's worth a look. The animation is not up to Shinkai standards, but they did a lot with ensuring historical accuracy in the details. Even the sound effects received special attention.
This is sort of a "life imitates art" thing. Could this be the work of an anime fan?
Police Want to Know Who Left Piano in Massachusetts Forest

HARWICH, Mass. —
Harwich police have a musical mystery on their hands: Who left a piano in the middle of the woods? And why?
The Baldwin piano discovered in the Bells Neck woods appears to be in perfect working condition and had a matching bench as if it had recently been played.
The piano was discovered Saturday by a woman walking along a path inside a conservation area at the woods.
Another question police would like to answer is how the piano got to such a remote location. The piano is heavy and it took more than a half dozen men to load it onto a truck to remove it.
Police said they've notified other police departments in the area to see if anyone has reported a missing piano.
Maybe it's just the outside look but the piano seems quite small. I can't believe it took a half dozen men to carry it.
This is quite an interesting mystery. It's highly likely that some deep music lovers brought it into the woods for a final play before leaving it in a "dramatic" way, if you know what I mean.
It is either tribute or a kindred spirit. Musical instruments as a kind of public installation is a thing that's been done elsewhere. I think of a park in Toronto or some such with a (weatherproof) pipe organ....
As for the weight.... pianos have a looooot of solid metal on the inside
