Hi Folks,
I think this Global SHinkai Day Event was a huge success from our perspective. I had a blast and it was great to chat with the people we've been posting with over the past year. The sense of community here is awesome
Here's your opportunity to post about the event ... what did you like? What could we do better? What were your fav moments? Do you know how many times SHinkai's name appears in the credits of A Place Promised ? Do you own the BluRay of A Place Promised (Zitch does) ?

I didn't get to do very much of the chatting aspect but I really enjoyed being able to see all of Shinkai's movies in bulk, and it looked like everyone was enjoying it as well,
Otherwise, it was quite a fun event. I would like to link the voice chat to some shoutcast server so that people without mics don't have to worry about having install ventrilo or teamspeak. In any case, I guess the onus of this is going to be on me...

The countdowns. The dub of "She and Her Cat". The sky-"shots". 18, +2 for copyright and DVD ending credit. No, for I do not own a player.
I think next time include a "Mystery Science Theater 3000" as the last run-through would have been fun. Should have suggested it before I left for work.
Favourite moments?
The lens flare, sky shots and the 'drinking game'. When all the Kanae fanboys started shouting in the text chat. The Metallica medley ["FREE BIRD!"]. Laz's speeches and Zitch's commentary.
I'm sure theres much more, but I just woke up and my memory isn't great even at it's optimum, hahah.
Thanks to all involved, especially Laz, it was an awesome event! _________________ "...Kanae fanboys represent!" - Zitch

I completely missed it. I suddenly got busy with other things... I'm so disappointed, it sounds like it was awesome. D: D: D: _________________ "This land is all too shallow

To me, this was a unique experience. Years ago, I was a member of a Sci-fi club, a group of fans who met about once a month at someone's house, chatted about the latest shows and movies, ate junk food and watched videos on the TV. This past weekend, I experienced something very similar, except that we were all in different parts of the world meeting over the internet. In spite of that, everyone enjoyed themselves, no one felt left out or unwelcome, and yet, with the exception of me and Zitch, none of us has ever met in person. That to me was a unique experience.
I think that if one thing needs improving, it's setting up an easier way for people in different time zones to keep up with the schedule. I already have an idea and will work on that for the next time.
It would have also been nice to see more Cherry Blossoms Falling members on the Ventrilo chat, even if they didn't have microphones. As far as any language barriers, I think those could be overcome somehow. We'll see.
Just glad no one had to drive home afterwards, considering the booze and the staying up late and all.
Fav moment: listening to Zitch play guitar during one of the breaks.
