Hmmmm .. what's the news on the new retelling of the Haruhi series. Season 2 Episode 1 is out on the boards now.

From what I can tell, it seems that someone has already done a sub and posted it somewhere. AnimeVice has screenshots from the new episode, and it sounds like people over here in the US have already seen it. I have to go and find where it's at.

The new episode is based on the story "Bamboo Leaf Rhapsody" from the light novels. I would have to re-read it to tell what it's about, it's been so long. It was one of the time-travel stories involving the SOS gang. I think there were at least three time-travel stories in the whole series, and they were all fun to read.

I found one torrent site with a sub. It's over 211 Megs, and it was soooo slow to start the download that I quit. Besides, it's an MKV file, and my VLC player doesn't play those very well. So, I'll keep looking for another download site.

Well, I'm not trying to monopolize this thread, but I re-read "Bamboo Leaf Rhapsody." Technically, it should have aired during the first season, since it occurs between "Boredom of Haruhi Suzumiya" and "Mysterique Sign." You could call it a "lost" episode, perhaps.

I won't give any spoilers, but it's a time-travel story that is integral to the whole over-all plot of the series. Also, I had forgotten until now a little detail near the end of the story, a little something that every Shinkai fan should appreciate. I won't give it away, but if you ever catch one of the subs, you'll see it.

There are several torrent sites with the episode, in some cases RAW, others subbed. I found one with the raw in avi format (186 Mb), but I have to wait for a slow traffic time before I can download it.

Thanks for the link, Laz. I preferred watching it streamed instead of torrent anyway. Really enjoyed it. It followed the original story pretty close.
