When i hear The Place Promised in our Early Days OST, somehow it's different from other anime soundtrack. I don't know how to express it...

By the way, my favorite pick at track 6

My own are the combination of tracks 25 (Beyond the Clouds, the Promised Place) and 26 (Your Voice), which are last theme played in the movie and the end credits theme. These are two of the biggest reasons I find it hard to move away from The Place Promised in Our Early Days as my most favorite Shinkai work. These songs and the setup of the end cumulate in a climactic finale that feels so much bigger than it actually is.

I mean, the actions are they fly to the tower, she wakes up, and they bomb the tower. Yet watching the end of TPPiOED leaves me one of the most up-lifting highs and really gives credit to TENMON as a musician and SHINKAI as a director. I just can't compare how any other drama anime ends to how this ending leaves me.

As a side note, who else always watches all the way through the end credits every time they watch this movie just for the song? *raises hand*

Also a contender for me is track 23, Hiroki's Melody and track 9, Sayuri's Melody. Yeah, they are very similar, but for good reason... Smile

I'll get back to you on this in a few days. I pretty much just started watching Place this very minute.

Now that I've seen it (I had to watch it a few times to understand it all) none of the songs particularly stood out for me that I liked, with exception to the violin piece.
