This season? Looks like I've been keeping up with The Sacred Blacksmith, Nyan Koi!, To Aru Kagaku no Railgun and Kimi no Todoke. The first two just for something to watch, and the third one cause I had watched Index before and this one is a bit better, and the latter cause it seems to have the most potential for me right now.
I guess you can also count Cross Game since it's still running this season.
Otherwise, i've been catching up with older stuff, like Kemono no Sou-ja Erin and a few other titles that I can't remember at the moment. |

The new things I'm starting to watch this Season are ...
1. Asura Crying:2 - I saw the first season and liked it so ... I'll keep checking it out.
2. Nogizaka Haruka no Himitsu - Purezza - ... Seems pretty decent so far.
3. Sora no Otoshimono - Lots of fan service
4. White Album 2: I watched the first season so of curse I'll check out the second.
5. Inuyasha: The Final Act - Why not
I'd like to check out the Railgun anime as well .... is that out yet?

I finished watching Sketchbook, which I thoroughly loved.
I checked out a couple of anime that Crunchyroll is streaming.
1. Asura Crying - It looks good, though I've only watched the first episode.
2. Saki - I watched the 1st ep. and was intrigued, but the fanservice was just too distracting for me. I'll have to wait and try it again.
3. White Album - It seemed too much like a soap-opera to me. I just couldn't get into it.
There are a couple of others I haven't looked at yet. I know, not much of a list, but I'll try better next time. _________________

OK, so I've seen two episodes of Asura Cryin', and I'm already lost. Do things get explained better in future episodes?
Now, I do get that there are two forces at war, and that Tomoharu is caught in the middle of it because of the mecha-like thing that came out of the metal suitcase. But there are so many twists and new characters introduced by the end of Ep. #2 that I think I have to either start over or just keep watching.
Maybe we need an Asura Cryin' thread. What do you guys think?
BTW, I'm also trying to learn the rules for mahjong so I can keep up with Saki. However, part way into reading them, I'm just as confused as with Asura. _________________

You kinda of need to see the first series for Asura Crying ... Hmmm ... thinking of how to explain ...
**** SPOILERS FOR FIRST SERIES ******
Tomoharu needs the ghost girl to help call his Machina. What they found out at the end of the first series is that every time he does that it uses up part of the ghost girl's life/energy so now he's trying to now call the machine when attacked. The other girl, who is a demon, is kind of bound to him as well and the more she uses her energy the more she loses her life force.
There's a main bad guy who is bound to the little blond girl's sister. The little blond girl has the power to alter probability .. so she eats peoples luck and thus they have bad luck. The main bad guy is an Asura Crying ... this is when someone like Tomoharu goes rogue (theres more to it but ... I'm tired .
Tomoharu belongs to the school science club that his brother initially was president of ... the chick with the missiles popping out of her is the current science club president. Tomoharu's brother originally sent him the Machina suit case and somehow is behind a lot of the shinanegans that are going on.
Tomoharu is caught between his feelings for the GHost Girl and the Demon girl ... and hijinx ensues.
Wow ... not sure if I actually gave any spoilers or just confused you ... and myself ha ha

Thanks, Laz. Fortunately, that didn't spoil it too much for me. I figured that there was more to the ghost girl and demon girl than there appeared, but Tomoharu was getting his chain (or something else ) yanked around so much by the different girls, that I couldn't see where things were going. And the old guy in the shrine harping about spirals was no help, either. Anyway, I'll just keep plowing through the first season, then. _________________

About halfway through Season #1, I almost lost interest. But now that I've started Season #2, it's getting interesting again. One good thing about Asura, it doesn't take itself too seriously. That's one crazy koala. (Oops, hope that wasn't a spoiler.) _________________

Yeah ... it's a little tongue-in-cheek over the top at times
Seconds season is making more sense now the more it goes. _________________ You're a woman, I'm a calf ... you're a window, I'm a knife ... we come together making chance into starlight ... - Jeff Buckley

Personally I have been enjoying Kimi ni Todoke, even though it is one of those "colourful" shôjo animes about which I am often apt to complain. I do like the opening theme, a rather harmonically advanced pop song with a most excellent melody (I love those colour tones - major 7ths, 13ths and 11ths... so refreshing), which I have been able to construe as a nice, laid back latin jazz piece (I may in fact end up performing this), and the lovely incidental music which plays throughout the series.
As you can see, my enjoyment of a series is in part dependent on the music, though don't get me wrong, I'm not completely unaware of characterisations and plot.
