Other than K-on Season 2 ... haven't heard much about these others. I do like the Manga "Saint Young me" ..so maybe I'll check out Arakawa Under the Bridge. I liked what I saw of Gundam Unicorn ... I need to finish watching that.

Is there anything that you're looking forward to?

K-On #2 >> I'm probably the only one who hasn't even seen K-On #1 yet. Hoping they release the DVD soon over here.

Working! >> Made by the same people who did Sketchbook. It has an "Azumanga" feel to it. And there are male characters, instead of the usual all-female cast. So it should be interesting and funny.

Arakawa Under the Bridge >> Looks and sounds interesting. I'd need to find out some more about it.

Angel Beats is a must for me, since I'm a whore for anything written by Jun Maeda. Will also watch Arakawa under the Bridge because I'm a whore for studio Shaft. Heroman has gotten me pretty interested in it, so I'll give that a shot. Debating on whether to watch K-On!! or not. I'm hoping they'll start going away from their current "K-On!" style they use in everything starting with this, since it's about time that they change styles (Clannad episode 24 was the first thing I saw from them that used the style, and considering how they change styles every so often).

As for everything else, I'll wait until I hear people's opinions.

I am looking forward to Yojo-Han Sinwa Taikei myself.  I'll watch anything involving Masaaki Yuasa at the helm for now.  Most things he's involved has been visually unique (Kemonozume, Kaiba), and often just trippy and mind-blowing (Mind Game, Noiseman Sound Insect, Cat Soup).  Even if the stories tend to fall apart at the end, his animation styles follow that "bringing independent and experimental style animation to commercial work" mentality that I love Studio 4°C for (though, in this case, Madhouse is doing the animation production under him).

I'll also most likely pick up on Major - Sixth Season; I've watched through the first five, and I want to continue watching Goro's struggles to make it to the major leagues.  Yeah, this series tends to feature some shonen-type power buildups and never-say-die attitudes in games, but Goro's path to the top has been anything but smooth.

I'll probably pickup K-On 2, Working!, or at least watch the first episodes of many of the others.  Heck, I'm curious about Heroman, being a collaboration between Studio Bones and Stan Lee.

Most of the shows are about 3 or 4 episodes in ... here's some impressions for the shows I'm watching ...

1. Arakawa Under the Bridge - Quirky in a "Sayonara Zetsouba Sensei" way. Still not quite sure where the plot is going but the wide/weird array of characters get's me watching each week.

2. Kaichou wa Maid Sama - Story revolves around the female High School Class president of a predominantly male school. She's a bit of a hard case during school but after school she works in a Maid Cafe. One of the guys from her school finds out and ... . The characters are ok and the story is progressing slowly. We'll see where it goes.

3. Ichiban ushiro no Dai Maou - Magical High School where one of the new students is told he's destined to become a demon lord and destroy the world. He, of course, tries to fight his fate but always seems to do the wrong thing. He mistakenly befriends a girl who is essentially his opposite.  Definitely a little ecchi but the characters are decent the story is moving along.

4. Angel Beats - High School kids find themselves in a high School (limbo) when they die. Rather than go quietly on to reincarnation or whatever is to follow, they fight against the "Angel" who's job it is to keep order in Limbo. After a good first episode, the second episode kind of floundered a bit. The third episode was better ... I'll keep watching for a while.

5. K-ON: Season 2 - Full of K-ON goodness ... what more can be said Smile

What I haven't liked so far ...

B Gata H Kei - I watched the first episode and the basic premise was kinda creepy. High School freshman makes it her goal to have 100 sex partners. She targets one guy and she realizes how inept she is at seducing him. I found this to be neither cute not interesting.

What do you guys think? have you been watching anything that I haven't?

What started out as a shaky season has actually been pretty good ...

1. Arakawa Under the Bridge - This has turned into one of my favorite series this Spring ... funny, smart, likable an interesting characters.

2. Kaichou wa Maid Sama - This series has been pretty consistent from the start. There's been some minor character progression but not as much as I'd like to see. The relationship between the lead male and female characters is a bit of a tease.

3. Ichiban ushiro no Dai Maou - A touch ecci, I've liked where this one is going too. A rival for the main character has been introduced and the story has evolved at a good pace. This is a bit of a "Comedy of errors" anime but I like it Smile

4. Angel Beats - I would give this my "most improved" series award. After the first two episodes I thought this was just going to be a childish gag anime but it's gotten a bit serious when it focused on the characters and their reasons for being in their current location. I like that they've softened the Angel/enemy character ... it provided a nice hook to keep me interested.

5. K-ON: Season 2 - I guess this would be my "disappointment" award. It's a solid steady series ... I guess I just expected more after the first series.

6. Yojo-Han Sinwa Taikei - Maybe the fansubs aren't coming out or Im missing them but I've only seen 2 episodes. I liked what I saw. Can anyone point me to a place where they come out regularly?

Are folks watching other series than this? What do you think so far?

Laz
