Also might be referred to the short-lived re-titled U.S. release by ADV: Apocalypse Meow.

To continue with my trend of finding and exposing "indy" anime, I had come across the original Cat Shit One trailer/pilot nearly a year ago.  At the time creators were looking for financial backing to finish the 3D anime series based off of the manga with the same name.

Obviously, the whole "Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare" with bunnies and camels really tickled me.  And for a long time, that 3 minute short was all we had to go on.

Well, not anymore.  Apparently, Studio Anima managed to secure some funding to create a 12 episode series.  The first episode was released on youtube (though only to Japanese IPs) on July 17th.  Fortunately, subtitled versions were out on the web the next day, if you know where to look.  And I have to say, it really takes a very serious and straight approach, but, well, with bunnies and camels (and I'm sure we will see other animals which represent other countries...).  This juxtaposition just makes me laugh, especially when the characters do something "animal-like", such as when the sniper lines up a shot and you notice his tail wagging slightly, and ears perking up when excited or drooping down when hiding behind cover.

Just have to say, I was very amused.  If it wasn't for the animation quality or having fuzzy animals, I would have been more annoyed by the combat sequences (Really, those camels shoot worse than storm troopers!  And silencers don't sound like that!  They get the sound of the guns pretty much right otherwise, including the sonic-boom of bullets going past, but not silencers!  Arrrrgh!).  A fun time was had be all who watched at my house!

Here's a second trailer for the actual release:

Akari: “And we thought…”
Zitch: “See you later, Fred!”
