Hmmm .. well then ... maybe that will be the first prize given by the Forum Smile  Think of it as a scholarship for greater Shinkai learning Smile

I'd have to go with "5 Centimeters Per Second" it basically describes what "5cm per second, the speed at which the cherry blossoms fall etc" meant.People change, Akari over time changed, she met other people, a boy,  she got engaged, Takaki on the other hand(though sure he *dated* someone he was never *with her*) was still that 13 year old boy Akari saw off in at the train station. In the end though he realized what he was doing to himself, and I guess others around him, so he finally decided "no more" i guess, it was over.

That little hint of a smile at the end i guess he must have been laughing at himself for maybe thinking that Akari was at the other side of the street, but he quickly turns around not looking back, as if he'll stop looking for her, he's finally going to start living.

I feel this story was very real and human, though sad,  i really liked it.

I know Shinkai did all he could and tried to show as much as possible into the one hour film. And he did it excellently.

Hmm, I've been thinking, is it alright to "stay" with someone and love them forever? Or will every relationship eventually have an "end"?

Thanks

and Jupei, to answer your question, well, everyone would have a different answer. Some people quickly let go and are able to adapt/move on, others have a very hard time letting go.

Yes I know that, but I was kind of thinking it in a different way.. Ah well, it's difficult to explain.

Maybe your asking how relationships change? Not sure seems like time can bring people closer and apart, what once was amazing is taken for granted now. What once was taken for granted is now amazing.
